Digital Society is a non-profit, public service project of the Mercator Foundation Switzerland and the Institute for Communication Research Lucerne in cooperation with the Teachers Training University of Central Switzerland Lucerne to promote public awareness of the impact of science and technology on society.

Digital Society undertakes research, organizes conferences and public events, as well as maintaining a website for promoting public awareness on current issues at the interface of science and society.

1st Conference Digital Society

On Saturday, December 15th, 2007 the first of series of conferences on the topic of “Digital Society” took place in the Terrace Room of the Art Museum (KKL) in Lucerne. The theme of the conference was: „Being Human in the Digital Society – Changing Views of What it Means to be Human“. More information to the conference you can finde here.
